He has 32 years of experience in litigating cases through jury verdict, arbitrations and appeals in commercial, matrimonial, estate and real estate matters. He also has a depth of experience drafting and negotiating contracts for a variety of business and real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, financings, partnerships. Mr. Finkel argued the New Jersey Supreme Court case entitled Durando et. al v. The Nutley Sun. The case is not only the leading case in New Jersey regarding actual malice, but the decision is utilized by attorneys throughout the United States.
Early in his career, Mr. Finkel clerked for the Honorable Joseph F. Scancarella, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic County. He is a member of the Bergen and Passaic County Bar Associations. Outside of his law practice, he is a member of Temple Emmanuel in Closter, New Jersey. He takes particular interest in his three sons: his oldest Ryan is an orthopedic surgeon at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. His son Jared was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2017, has since become an executive with Major League Baseball Players Association. His youngest son Kyle recently graduated the University of Florida and will be attending law school at Southwestern law school in Los Angeles.
